3rd Asian Para Throwball Championship, 2027

  • News: Rajasthan has been selected to host the prestigious international sporting event next year.

    • The announcement was made during a press conference in Jaipur by Nirmala Rawat, President of the World Para Throwball Federation.

  • Host: Singhania University, Rajasthan, India.

  • Dates: 18- 21 March 2026.

  • The World Para Throwball Federation has officially handed over the hosting rights to the Para Throwball Federation of India.

  • Participating Nations

    • Around 15 Asian countries are expected to participate in this championship. The teams include:

    • India, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, UAE, South Korea, Vietnam, Japan, and the Philippines.

  • Memorandum of Understanding (MoU): 

    • Inclusion for Disabled Personnel: BL Soni (former DGP of Rajasthan and current Chairman of the World Police and Fire Games, India Chapter) highlighted that police personnel who became disabled due to injuries sustained during active duty or sports can now participate in police games.

  • Note: Arun and Nirmala will represent India in the upcoming 2nd Asian Para Throwball Championship 2026 in Malaysia
    • They hails from Chirawa, Rajasthan.
  • Singhania University had earlier hosted National Para Throwball Championship in February 2026.
    • in this Jharkhand won the championship by defeating Rajasthan.
