The policy is intended to reward sporting excellence and encourage sports participation in the state.
The rules are known as the Rajasthan Out of Turn Appointment to Sports Medal Winners Rules, 2017.
Objective
The primary goal of these rules is to encourage sports in the state by ensuring financial security and respectable career opportunities for athletes who bring laurels to Rajasthan and India at national and international levels.
Categories of Appointment
The appointments are divided into three main categories based on the level of the sporting achievement:
Category A (State Services - e.g., RAS, RPS):
Medal winners in the Olympic Games (Summer) or Paralympic Games.
Gold medal winners in the Asian Games (Asiad) or Commonwealth Games.
Medal winners in the World Cup / World Championship / Para World Cup.
Category B (Subordinate Services - Grade Pay ₹3600/- or above):
Silver and Bronze medal winners in the Asian Games or Commonwealth Games.
Medal winners and runners-up in World Cups or World Championships.
Sportspersons who successfully qualify for and participate in the Olympics.
Category C (Ministerial Services - Grade Pay less than ₹3600/-):
Medal winners (Senior category) in National Games.
Medal winners or runners-up in National Championships (Senior).
Sportspersons who successfully qualify for and participate in the Paralympics.
