Human Spaceflight & Orbital Capabilities
- Axiom-4 ISS Mission (2025)- Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla completed a mission to the International Space Station (June 25 – July 15, 2025), securing hands-on operational microgravity experience.
- Gaganyaan Programme (₹20,193 Crore)-
- Revised in September 2024 to encompass 8 comprehensive missions.
- Aims to send a 3-member crew to a 400-km Low Earth Orbit (LEO) for a 3-day mission with safe recovery in Indian waters.
- Uncrewed mission carrying the half-humanoid Vyommitra slated for Q4 2026; crewed launch targeted for 2027.
- Bharatiya Antariksh Station (BAS)-
- Multi-module indigenous space station planned for full operationalization by 2035.

- Space Docking Experiments (SPADEX)-

Next-Generation Propulsion & Reusability Technologies-
- Semi-Cryogenic Engine Development- Developing a 200-tonne thrust semi-cryogenic engine(kerosene/LOX) to replace Vikas liquid engines in booster stages.
- LVM3 Booster Enhancement- Incorporating semi-cryogenic propellant stages to upgrade LVM3 payload capacity to LEO and GTO orbits.
- Vertical Take-off & Vertical Landing (VTVL)- Developing stage recovery and propulsive landing systems to enable rocket reusability and lower launch costs.
- Next Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV)- Heavy-lift, partially reusable launch vehicle powered by LOX-Methane (Methalox) propulsion for deep-space missions and BAS module deployment.
- Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV)- Developing a Winged Orbital Re-entry Vehicle for autonomous atmospheric re-entry and runway landings.
- Air-Breathing Scramjet Engines- Testing hypersonic air-breathing propulsion systems to support low-cost orbital transportation.
