29th National Senior Athletics Federation Competition 2026

  • Venue: Birsa Munda stadium,Morabadi, Ranchi, Jharkhand,  22- 25 May 2026.

  • It will serve as the selection trial for the Commonwealth Games 2026.

    • Each country is restricted to a maximum of 32 track and field athletes at CWG 2026.

  • Key Event Highlights:

    • Men's Pole Vault: Dev Meena (Gold) and Kuldeep Kumar (Silver) jointly set a new National Record by clearing 5.45m (Previous: 5.41m by Kuldeep).

    • Men’s 100m race: Animesh Kujur first set a new National Record (NR) of 10.15s. Gurindervir Singh immediately reclaimed it by running 10.17s in the semifinals, before shattering it entirely in the final with a historic 10.09s.

      • He is officially the first Indian in history to complete a 100m race under 10.10 seconds.

      • He is from Jalandhar, Punjab. 

      • Note: In the women's category, Dutee Chand holds the 100m national record with a timing of 11.17 seconds, which she achieved at the Indian Grand Prix IV at Patiala in 2021.

    • Men’s 400 m Race: Vishal T.K. (Tamilnadu) crossed the 400m finish line in 44.98 seconds at Ranchi, becoming the first Indian in history to run a sub-45 second 400m race.

    • Men's High Jump (Meet Record Equaled): Sarvesh Kushare (Maharashtra) won Gold by clearing 2.28m, equaling Tejaswin Shankar’s meet record.

    • Men's Long Jump: M. Sreeshankar won Gold with an 8.08m leap.

    • Men's 110m Hurdles (New Meet Record): Tejas Shirse clocked 13.50 seconds for Gold, setting a new Meet Record (Previous: 13.61s).

    • Men's 10,000m Race Walk: Olympian Sandeep Kumar (Haryana) won Gold (39:51.95).

    • Men’s 1500 m event: Gold Medal: Rahul Baloda (Jhunjhunu) timing of 3:40.06. Silver: Sakir, Bronze: Ajay Kumar Saroj
