FIBA U-18 Asia Cup 2026

    • The FIBA Regional Office-Asia on May 13, 2026 announced that the FIBA U18 Asia Cup 2026 will be played in Ahmedabad, India from Aug 13-23, 2026.

  • Format: 

    • It will feature 16 teams from across Asia.

    • The 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four for the round-robin stage, with the top three sides from each group advancing to the knockouts.

    • The top four teams from the competition will qualify for the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup, which will be held in Pardubice, Czechia, from June 26 to July 4, 2027.

  • Significance for India

    • This will be only the third time India hosts the biennial continental youth tournament.

    • The last edition held in the country came in Bengaluru in 2004.

    • Before that, India hosted the event in Kolkata in 1998

  • Previous Edition 2024: 

    • Venue: Jordan 

    • Winner: Australia

    • Runner Up: New Zealand.
