Defence Indigenisation & Strategic Self-Reliance
- Record Value of Production- Domestic defence production reached a record ₹1.78 lakh crore in FY 2025–26, marking 15.6% annual growth and expanding from ₹46,429 crore in 2014–15.
- Exponential Export Surge- Defence exports grew from ₹686 crore in 2013–14 to ₹38,424 crore in 2025–26, reflecting an increase of over 5,500%.
- Global Footprint Expansion- Indian defence equipment, platforms, and munitions are currently exported to over 80 countries worldwide.
- Rising Private Sector Participation- Defence PSUs contributed 76% of total production, while the private sector's share expanded to 24% in FY 2025–26.
- Positive Indigenisation Lists- Notified 10 Positive Indigenisation Lists (5 by Department of Military Affairs & 5 by Department of Defence Production) covering 5,521 items to restrict imports.
- Digital Sourcing Ecosystem- The SRIJAN / Defence Equipment Empowerment Platform (DEEP) listed over 41,000 vendors and 2.7 lakh products to reinforce domestic supply chains.

Electronics, Mobile Manufacturing & Semiconductor Ecosystem-
- Massive Output Expansion- Total electronics production grew 7-fold from ₹1.9 lakh crore (2014–15) to ₹13.11 lakh crore in FY 2025–26 (a 15.8% YoY growth).
- Mobile Manufacturing Dominance- India has emerged as the 2nd-largest mobile phone manufacturer globally by volume, with 99.2% of domestic mobile phones produced locally.
- Top Export Commodity Status- Smartphones surpassed refined petroleum and gems/jewellery to become India’s #1 individual exported commodity in FY 2025–26.
- Semicon India Programme 1.0- Approved 12 manufacturing units with over ₹1.64 lakh crore investments, with commercial production begun at Micron, Kaynes, and CG Semi facilities.
- Semicon India 2.0 Sanction- Cabinet approved Semicon 2.0 in July 2026 with an enhanced budgetary outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore to establish commercial fabs and display units.
- Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (2026–2031)- Approved with a ₹62,500 crore outlay offering 2.25%–5% incentives to boost local sourcing, R&D, and Indian-owned brands.

Pharmaceuticals, Biopharma & Medical Devices
- Global Supplier Footprint- India ranks 3rd globally in volume and 11th in value, manufacturing 20% of global generic medicines and a major share of international vaccines.
- Turnover & Capital Investments- Annual pharmaceutical turnover reached ₹4.72 lakh crore in 2024–25, with three PLI schemes attracting ₹51,997 crore in actual investments.
- Sales & Cumulative Exports- Pharma PLI schemes generated ₹3.88 lakh crore in sales, including international exports exceeding ₹2.43 lakh crore.
- API & KSM Import Substitution- Successfully established domestic manufacturing capacity for 218 Key Starting Materials (KSMs), APIs, and drug intermediates.
- Medical Devices & Infrastructure- Medical device exports increased to ₹42,360 crore in 2024–25, supported by three Bulk Drug Parks in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh.
- Biopharma SHAKTI Scheme- Launched in Union Budget 2026–27 with an outlay of ₹10,000 crore over 5 years to scale high-end biomanufacturing and innovation.
Maritime, Automobiles & Clean Energy Tech
- ₹69,725-Crore Maritime Package- Integrated framework comprising the Shipbuilding Development Scheme (₹19,989 crore; target 4.5M GT), Maritime Development Fund (₹25,000 crore), and SBFAS(₹24,736 crore).
- Container Manufacturing Assistance Scheme (CMAS)- Allocated ₹10,000 crore over 5 years to expand capacity to 7.5 lakh TEUs/year, rolling out India's first domestic EXIM container for Maersk at Dadri ICD.
- Automobile Scale & Job Creation- Direct and indirect employment for over 30 million people, with vehicle production reaching 31.03 million units in FY25.
- Electric Mobility Expansion (PM E-DRIVE)- Supported by a ₹10,900 crore outlay incentivizing 28.30 lakh EVs, including ₹4,391 crore for 14,028 e-buses (14,000 deployed) and ₹2,000 crore for public EV charging stations.
- Solar PV Manufacturing Leap- ALMM solar module capacity surged to 100 GW in August 2025 (up from 2.3 GW in 2014), while solar cell capacity reached 25 GW.
- Solar PLI Integration- The High-Efficiency Solar PV PLI scheme allocated ₹24,000 crore across two tranches, awarding 48 GW of integrated domestic manufacturing capacity.
